We had ok waves for the quik pro, the finals looked really fun and chunky! Would have love to be out there on that last day… felt really good going in to the event, I had spent the beginning of the year mostly at home with my family, surfing a lot and training towards the event. So I was pretty disappointed with my 17th place finish, I had a great heat but missed out on 2 of the best waves which made the difference! Snapper is a pretty awesome venue for an event though, huge crowds and the perfect summer setup.

We were staying up there during the comp and I took tosh out surfing on tommy carrols stand up paddle board, was a beast and we had a blast on the little runners through snapper. Went for a bbq at parko’s with damo hobgood and all the kids on one of the lay days and fished off his back lawn into the canal! Well not really back lawn as its a beach…

Around the event period for the Quikky Pro, fortunately the pass has had probably the best bank I have ever seen out there so during all that stormy junky swell we had a great time, grinding little barrels down the inside. I have never seen so much swell in the bay, almost every day this year you could have surfed good pass. Really it has been much better than snapper!
